Topic Brainstorm

  1. Nagini: Naga seem like they're kind of like the snake version of a centaur. There's a lot of really great sculpture that features them. It'd be interesting to do something from the perspective of a Nagini, which is a female Naga. I'm not sure exactly what the premise would be, but so far, the core idea I've been toying with is putting together a tumblr blog for a specific character, surrounding the four main stories with aesthetic posts and other reblogs to make the blog seem more realistic. It seems like their depictions vary between good and evil, and it could be interesting to explore that.
  2. Goddess: It would also be interesting to put together a blog from the perspective of a goddess. Vaishno Devi, the goddess of the hills, looks like an interesting character. There's even a comic about her, so maybe I could utilize some of those photos in her tumblr blog. It seems like she's a mother goddess, so maybe she could run an advice blog. There's also Tapati, the Daughter of the Sun God. She has a great love of forests, so I could use that to create her aesthetic. Maybe she could even run an activist blog.
  3. Sukanya: Sukanya has an interesting story, and I'm not sure how I would adapt it, but I'd be interested to work with it. I could create a tumblr blog for her, or I could decide on a way to adapt her story. There's a lot of interesting aspects to her story: the old sage whose eyes she pokes out, the twin gods, her father. There are lots of ways to approach the story, I'm sure. I think she might be the one I'm most interested in.
  4. Folk Tales: There are tons of folktales to choose from, and I think it'd be interesting to humanize animal characters or see if I could embed their story in a tumblr blog or other adaption so that they are a bit more subtle, but still there. Especially if they were in some sort of fantasy setting, or adapted into a television show or movie I like. I feel like a folk tale would allow for more creative freedom. The hardest part would probably be just picking one. The Greedy Mother-in-Law might be a fun one to retell.
I suppose I'll just keep exploring!
